Houghton Street Partners has hired June Tiong as an Associate for its Singapore office.

Prior to joining Houghton Street Partners, Tiong spent some time conducting microbiology research on a fission yeast, S. japonicus (a cousin of the more well known S. pombe), at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory to better understand the human cell cycle, in the interest of cancer research.

Tiong was also a national squash player on the Malaysian women’s team for 7 years, and the top player at Harvard University’s Women’s Team. Tiong was awarded Rookie of the Year 2007/2008 at Harvard for being the best freshman squash player in the country.

Tiong holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Harvard University.
