Houghton Street Partners has hired Charles Kok as an Associate Director for its Singapore office.

 

Previously, Kok was the Senior Warfare Officer of a coalition task force deployed to combat piracy in the Gulf of Aden. He also represented Singapore in the prestigious International Principal Warfare Officers’ Course organized by the Royal Navy, UK, where he graduated top of his course.

 

Kok began his career in the Republic of Singapore Navy as a recipient of a prestigious government scholarship. He was handpicked by the navy leadership to lead the country’s first upgraded missile corvette.

 

Kok holds a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from Cambridge University where he graduated at the top of his cohort with first class honours. He also holds a Master of Natural Sciences (Chemistry) from Cambridge University where he graduated 2nd in his cohort.
