Houghton Street Partners commenced its second annual Private Equity Wealth Management Internship Programme in July 2013 with a batch of seven highly talented young individuals. This year brought a particularly diverse batch of interns coming from the UK, US, Korea, and Malaysia, with backgrounds in economics, accounting, management, physics, targeted medicine, and cancer diagnostics.

 

The eight-week long internship programme follows a proprietary curriculum developed by in-house specialists, supplemented by modules from leading partner institutions such as the Investment Banking Institute, Bloomberg and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and is designed to provide the tools, perspectives and case-based work experience to enable our interns to develop the skills required to succeed in the wealth management and private equity industry. Highlights of this year’s programme include acquisition research techniques, technical excel analysis, portfolio management, commercial and financial due diligence methods, LBO modeling, M&A tax structuring, family business and family office structuring, investment memorandum writing, field trips and live project attachments.
